Hurricane Irene
By admin | August 27, 2011
Sheltering in place (i. e. in residences) is preferred to mass sheltering whenever possible. Mass sheltering presents public health and safety issues which can be avoided by sheltering in place. Residents of The Spruces and other low lying areas are urged to relocate at their earliest convenience. Williamstown Elementary School on School Street will be open for those needing shelter from 7:00 a.m. Sunday to the storm’s conclusion. Please bring your personal hygiene items and required medicines. Avoid calling 911 except in an emergency. Contact town hall after 7:00 a.m. Sunday at 458-3500 or Police at 458-5733 at other times. Monitor this web site, iBerkshires.com, theTranscript.com, and WNAW for further information.
